Guilt Stricken Religious Obligations
Acrylic on ceramics. 24" x 96" x 48" inches.
As a troubled teen, I was tasked to make a plethora of prayer-beaded necklaces which became more of meeting expectations than a pentince of being troubled. This piece explores the concept of self-imposed mental confinement—such as guilt and imposter syndrome—viewed as penance for perceived transgressions, as dictated by one's faith.
